One of the quiet advantages of storing on Highway 126 is how quickly you can be on the road. Hook up, roll out the gate, and you are pointed at the coast or the desert without crossing a city. Here are five trips our customers keep coming back to.
1. Carpinteria State Beach
Under an hour and a half up the coast, with sites close enough to the sand to hear the water. Book early — this one fills months out for summer weekends.
2. Lake Casitas
Forty-five minutes away and a completely different landscape. Big sites, good fishing, and enough space that a long travel trailer is not a problem.
3. Ventura Beach and the Harbor
The shortest trip on the list and the easiest sell to family who are not sure about camping. Beach in the morning, harbor restaurants in the evening.
4. Los Padres National Forest
Head inland and up. Cooler nights, real quiet, and a good excuse to test whether you actually packed the extra blankets.
5. Ocotillo Wells for the Toy Haulers
A longer haul, but the reason a lot of people bought a toy hauler in the first place. Go in the cooler months, air down, and give yourself a full weekend.
- Check tire pressure before every trip
- Confirm the awning is fully retracted before pulling out
- Top off fresh water before you leave the valley
- Give yourself daylight to set up on the first night
